“Thank you for teaching me English. Also, your volunteer students are amazing. They are smart, responsible, sweet, and polite. I am pleased to attend your class on Zoom. “Studying English in Brazil helped me to read and write, but when I arrived in Canada I had to face the challenge of listening, speaking, and communicating properly. It was then I started the ESL conversation classes at Heritage College with Linda Reed. Even during the isolation period of COVID, the online classes were crucial for my growth in speaking and listening skills.
Participating in ESL class has strengthened my self-confidence, and helped me to train my mind more and more to think in English. I am now a new student at Heritage College.”
Nadim, one of our ESL Instructors, was born in Egypt and raised in Canada.
“Helping with Heritage’s ESL classes has been a highlight of my summer. It is a joy to serve alongside wonderful student leaders and teachers from Heritage College. Moreover, getting to know the students is heartwarming. Everyone in our class came from a distinct culture with their own unique stories and insights to share. Our discussion groups were beneficial and effective in building community relationships while also learning and solidifying the English language.”
“I really appreciate your ESL classes. The classes have been helping us communicate with friends and prevent us from being socially isolated. I can’t thank you enough for what you have done. I am going back to my home country soon.”
The ESL program was very import for my adaptation in Canada.
