Every now and then, we have a week we never forget. As a TESOL teacher. And as ESL student.
This week we continued our classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Monday class, led by Becca and Victoria, is very personal and caring. The Wednesday class discussed “Changes” since we will soon be saying “goodbye” to two students returning to Japan. On Saturday night, we also say goodbye to Daylight Savings Time, as the clocks “fall back” this week.
As part of “saying goodbye,” on Thursday, I (Linda) took a wonderful walk in the woods with the two Japanese students, Megumi and Naoko, who are going home. Since they have been with us for three years, we will miss them very, very much (See more photos at the end of this post). Just as the leaves are changing, so are our lives.
This week, we had a new student join us virtually from Brazil. It was amazing to watch her “saying hello” to another Brazilian in our virtual “class!” (If you would like to join us, please use the Registration form and the Zoom link will be provided to you by Joehelen).
Together, we all gathered on the lawn at Heritage College to celebrate the upcoming baby for one of our students, Mari. We sat in the sun and enjoyed snacks, opened presents, played games, and made alphabet tiles (see photos).
As TESOL teachers, we have come to “have a fond affection for you.” From all of us here in Canada to all of you from around the world, we are saying “we love you.”
